This is my dad relaxing in his hammock after a long hard day of work. The empty chair is where my mom would sit. I used a photo of my dad from 1971 for this painting and I planned to give it to him on his birthday on June 7th. He passed on May 12 so in his memory, I finished the painting. My mom passed in 2002. I miss them both immensely.

ReplyDeleteThis painting is wonderful and so filled with light. I know you were painting it for him, but its become a gift to yourself. I'm sure you'll always cherish this meaningful piece and it will bring memories of pleasant times passed.
