I love painting bird portraits and this one was a challenge. This European Eagle owl was on display at an outdoor event at Codorus State Park. He was very calm on his perch so I got a lot of photographs and decided to draw him in this position. I learned that owls eyes do not move in the socket like our eyes do but they can turn their head all around.
