Day 16 of the "30 paintings in 30 days" challenge is a painting for "Flashback Friday". I created this pastel from an old photo of my mom and her friend and my little sister in a boat on the Conewago Creek.

I just completed this pastel of pears in a bowl but always looking at ways to improve it. Even though pastels are messy, I love to watch the color pop on on the paper and form the object that is in front of me.

This pastel was accepted into the Keystone National 2013 Juried Exhibition of Works on Paper starting September 13 to October 11 at the Art Center in Mechanicsburg.
