When I am painting a cat, I feel calm, content and peasceful just like a cat. Painting them is my therapy. The reference photo for this painting was taken by me, in my studio as I took a break from painting and saw that my 16 year old cat was watching me.

Day 27 "Haley and Tiger" Oil

Day 27 of the "30 paintings in 30 days" challenge is an oil painting of Haley with Tiger the cat. My granddaughter is my all time favorite model. I should have kept track of how many paintings I have done of her since she was born.

This was an experiment in handling the same color in different subjects like the wall, cat and the piece of furniture. My reference photo was taken by Laura Nelson and posted on Paint My Photo-a website where photographers grant artist permission to use their photos for their art. I usually like to take my own reference photos but this was a fun challenge.
