Riders Ready oil painting

16x20
oil painting

This time last year my friend Sharon and I were coming back from delivering art when we decided to stop by the Swan Lake Riding stables where there was a horse show competition. We took lots of photos and this painting was done from one of those photos. I think the girls were waiting to compete. I enjoyed painting this because of the color variations of the horses.

10x12
Oil
Self Portrait
I was asked to participate in the "As We See Ourselves II" Self Portrait show at the Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts in Harrisburg. I worked from a photo that my grandson, Dylan, took of me and changed it up a little but it was taken a few years ago when glasses and hair-do were different but he caught me in a moment of thought so I will call this "Contemplation".

Not So Wooly Sheep oil painting

6x6
Oil on gessoed board

I guess you can tell I like painting sheep. I passed by a field one day with some wooly sheep grazing and thought I need to go back to take some photos. Well to my surprise when I finally got by there again with my camera, the sheep all got haircuts. Being a daughter of a sheep farmer, I know why this happens. My dad sold the wool from the sheep we raised. So this is my painting of one of the not so wooly sheep. 6x6 oil on gessoed board.

Day#5 "Remembrance Day Marcher" Oil Painting

6x4
oil painting
Day #5 of the "30 paintings in 30 days"I used a reference photo that I tool during the Remembrance Day Parade in Gettysburg.  It was my first time seeing this parade and it was exciting to see that many re-actors in one place at one time. I do not think the red scarf was actually part of the uniform for this re-enactor but it was a cold day in Gettysburg.
