This time last year my friend Sharon and I were coming back from delivering art when we decided to stop by the Swan Lake Riding stables where there was a horse show competition. We took lots of photos and this painting was done from one of those photos. I think the girls were waiting to compete. I enjoyed painting this because of the color variations of the horses.

New Oil Painting. I stopped by the Swan Lake Riding Stables with Sharon Benner where there was a horse show and we took lots of photos. Here is one of the first photos I took of an employee bringing two horses in from the field.

Today I received an "Award of Excellence" for my pastel "By a Nose" at the exhibit reception at the York Art Association 44th annual Open Juried Exhibition from judge Jay Mckean Fisher. The exhibit runs thru December 27th.

Just off my easel! I love painting horses and this mother and baby belong to the Hanover Shoe Farms. It is that time of year when you drive by the fields of mothers and babies and I have to stop and take pictures for future paintings.

On day 16 of the "30 Painting in 30 Days" hosted by Leslie Saete, I was given permission to paint this beautiful horse named "Roxy". I love painting horse almost as much as I love painting dogs.
