"Outdoor Cafe in Annapolis"

9x12
Pastel
This is a new pastel that I just finished. It is a little bit different for me but I wanted to paint from my photo I took on a trip to Annapolis last year. I liked the colorful outdoor cafe and of course there is a dog in it. Looks like a Chow Chow.

This is one of my paintings on display at the Hanover Area Art Guild where I am Artist of the Month for February. The theme for my display in the "Artist of the Month" window is about

"Horse Pasture" Pastel by Charlotte Yealey

9x12
Soft Pastels on Wallis Paper

For my second daily painting I chose a photo from my landscape photo reference file of a pasture. I did not include the fence on the photo and I added a mare and her foal from another
reference photo. The sky was blue with no clouds but I added some fluffy ones for a more interesting painting. I completed this is 2-1/2 hours and I feel I over worked it a bit. I don't feel the baby horse is believable.
