"The Stalker" oil painting.

12x12
oil on gessoed board
When I am painting a cat, I feel calm, content and peasceful just like a cat. Painting them is my therapy. The reference photo for this painting was taken by me, in my studio as I took a break from painting and saw that my 16 year old cat was watching me.

"Finn and Allure" colored pencil

10x12 colored pencil
One good thing about snow storms is that I get a lot of work done since time slows down when the roads are snow covered. This is Finn and Allure, two standard poodles drawn with prismacolor colored pencils on Strathmore Bristol.

"Shobe" Colored Pencil

Colored Pencil
I just completed this drawing of my dearly departed greyhound. We adopted her in 1993 and laid her to rest in 2005. She was a racing greyhound that became the sweetest therapy dog with her quiet nature and loving desire to be petted. She wore these rose colored sun glasses to visits which made everyone smile.

2 Awards in the "Art Show at the Dog Show"

Great News! I found out that I won 2 awards in the 29th Annual National Juried Fine Arts competition at the "Art Show at the Dog Show" in Wichita, Kansas. My colored pencil drawing of the "Rodesian Ridgeback" received a 3rd place award in the Drawing Category and my photograph of my dearly departed Ibizan hound "Halen" received 4th place in the Photography Category. I never entered the photography category before so this is quite an honor and especially since it was my favorite photo of my beautiful boy.

Day 30 of the 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. My last piece is a colored pencil painting of Haley from one of her selfies taken in 2012. I have enjoyed this challenge and am proud that I stuck to my theme of people portraits. It was not easy doing a portrait a day and also working on commissions and painting for my galleries.
