This time last year my friend Sharon and I were coming back from delivering art when we decided to stop by the Swan Lake Riding stables where there was a horse show competition. We took lots of photos and this painting was done from one of those photos. I think the girls were waiting to compete. I enjoyed painting this because of the color variations of the horses.
Just found out my painting of the male cowbird was juried into the Thirteenth Annual Adams County Arts Council Juried Art Exhibition. There were 196 paintings from 73 artists entered and mine was one of the 47 pieces selected for exhibition and eligible for awards by juror John Shipman, Executive Director of Delaware Center for Contemporary Arts.
There are times when I post everything as soon as I paint it and there are times when life happens and some of my art is not posted. I have had photos that were taken by my friend Karen Dattilio of bluebirds outside her window and so far painted 2 paintings from them and this is the 3rd. I need to find her secret to get these beautiful birds to my feeders.
