Painting#30 Traveler and Willow 8x10 watercolor. This challenge has taught me that each painting I do is is a learning experience even though I have been painting a long time. Watercolor is not a medium I do often but I will keep trying to master this wet medium. My reference photo for this one was taken by Wendy Erdman and the subject is two of her beautiful Borzoi.
Painting #28 Rocky 8x10 colored pencil. This
is the 3rd Rocky in my challenge but this guy is very special because he
is owned by Danielle and Dylan(my daughter and grandson). He would
never sit still for a portrait and I am lucky that he sat still for a
My painting # 25 is a from a photo I took years ago at a greyhound gathering in Maryland. This greyhound was a retired racer that was rescued and given a great life and was attending the picnic with his family. Such gentle dogs.
Painting #24 is "Farm Show Chicks" I did not
get to the farm show this year but Dylan, my grandson, and his mom,
Danielle went with Dylan's class on a field trip. Dylan took photos with
his ipod and sent them to me so I painted these just hatched chicks.

Painting #23 is not a dog! This is a painting I
started earlier in my challenge but finished up today after it was
hanging on the wall so I could look at it daily to decide if it was
finished. I love sheep since my dad raised them on our farm when I was
Life gets busy so for #10 I posted this "work in progress". A colored pencil drawing of a scottish deerhound I met at a lure coursing event. I had a busy day so I will have to finish this one on another day.
This is Tinker Bell, a maltese in the snow. It looks like she does not want to step in it. Thanks to Lou Ann Smith for her request for me to paint her cute little dog. A white dog in snow is always a challenge.
Painting #7 of the 30 paintings in 30 days isTheo the weimaraner. Thank you Lin
Grado for allowing me to use your photo of your beautiful dog. It was a fun challenge to create the lights
and hues in this photo. Weimaraners have that beautiful color with a light glow to the hair and this photo captured that and it was a lesson in highlights when I was recreating it.
This painting was done from a photo by Holly Wine with her permission. This is her westie Chablis who crossed rainbow bridge a while back. Thanks Holly, painting Chablis was my pleasure and may she rest in peace.
When I accepted the Leslie Saeta challeng of 30 paintings in 30 days, I asked my FB followers on my art page to send a photo of their pet that they took and this is the second one I received. Loved this guy smooching on Santa so I drew it in colored pencils.
My second painting of the challenge was started before the end of 2013 but was finished today and framed and delivered to Hanover Art Guild as my entry into the members show"Through Any Window". The title is "On the Outside looking In" from my own photo of Deb Nell's sheltie, Riley.
