"Yorkshire Terrier" Oil Painting by Charlotte Yealey

8x10

A cute little yorkie that belongs to a grooming customer from years ago had such a sweet expression. I came across the photo I took of it and just had to paint it. I can't remember his name.

"Golden Puppy" Watercolor by Charlotte Yealey

8.5x11
Watercolor
Spring has sprung and of course, I am thinking puppies. This painting was done with the idea of a spring card design to add to my collection of seasonal cards. I remember this little guy trotting across my back yard following his young owner where ever she went as if he was trained to do so.
I just love puppies.

"Gigi and Loretta" Colored Pencil

6x6
colored pencil
Most people that know me know I have dogs and my dogs are certified therapy dogs. I visit nearby nursing homes, adult day care centers and a local grade school with one of them each day for about an hour or more. One of my fond memories was when my Borzoi, GiGi, met Loretta, a resident of the Lutheran home in south Hanover. Loretta is blind and she loves dogs and always had them before living at the home. Like most blind people, her touch is the way she sees and when I walked up to her with GiGi she reached out and felt her face, over her ears and down her neck. GiGi, the wonderfully patient dog for a large breed, stood so still then gently sniffed Loretta's eyes as if to say "I know you are blind and I understand". To preserve that memory, I drew this in colored pencil.

"Soft Coated Wheaton Terrier" Watercolor & Ink by Charlotte Yealey

6x6
Watercolor and Ink

This is sort of an experimental piece where I inked in the background for a more dramatic look. I have done this in the past using black ink but this was a burnt umber that was more translucent.
This image will be featured on products in my Zazzle and Cafe Press Stores.

"Running with the Big Boys" Oil Painting by Charlotte Yealey

8x10
Oil Painting
Years ago, my neighbors two great danes escaped their property while no one was at home so I took a picture then took them back home. Another time, a different neighbors Jack Russell terrier was running free so I took a picture. He made it safely back home on his own. So I combined the two photos into a painting and called it "Running with the Big Boys".

"Old Bottles" Colored Pencil by Charlotte Yealey

8x10-1/2
Colored Pencil
While cleaning a collection of old bottles, my husband sat them in the kitchen sink. He filled them with water to soak out some of the dirt in them and when I walked into the kitchen and saw the overhead light on them, I had to take a picture. After viewing the photo on my computer, I had to do a painting.
