8x8
Colored Penci
Day #8 in the "20 Paintings in 30 Days" challenge. I chose to use a photo from a free artist reference photos site and I chose colored pencil  as the medium. I know the challenge is for paintings but when I use the mineral spirits with the colored pencil it has a painterly effect.

"Halen Running"

12x16
Colored Pencil

My dog, Halen the ibizan hound, loves to run. This colored pencil drawing was fun to do because of his happy expression when gets a chance to do what he loves to do. I also tried to capture the sense of movement in his legs and sometimes completely airborne.

"Mix It Up" Colored Pencil

9x12
Colored Pencil
I love capturing light reflections in glass especially colored glass. This bowl was my mother's which brings back so many memories when I recreate it on paper. This colored pencil painting was  selected to be shown in the 2012 Keystone National Works on Paper Exhibit at the Mechanicsburg Art Centers gallery.
